Kettlebell Training in Halifax
Strength. Skill. Endurance. Longevity.
At PuncHIIT Fitness, kettlebells are more than just another piece of gym equipment.
While many gyms use kettlebells as a substitute for dumbbells in circuit workouts, we teach kettlebell training as its own discipline. That means proper technique, smart progressions, skilled coaching, and workouts designed to build strength that actually carries over into real life.
Whether your goal is to get stronger, improve mobility, build endurance, increase athletic performance, lose weight, or simply move better as you age, our kettlebell programs are designed to help you train safely, effectively, and confidently.
Led by one of Halifax's most experienced kettlebell coaching teams, PuncHIIT offers a unique blend of Hardstyle kettlebell training, kettlebell sport influences, kettlebell flows, strength and conditioning, and our signature HELLS BELLS program.

Why Train with Kettlebells?
Kettlebells offer a unique combination of strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, mobility, coordination, and core stability that few other training tools can match.
Unlike traditional gym machines that isolate muscles, kettlebell exercises train the body as an integrated system. Every swing, carry, press, squat, or get-up challenges multiple muscle groups while improving balance, posture, movement quality, and overall fitness.
Benefits of kettlebell training include:
-
Improved functional strength
-
Better cardiovascular fitness
-
Enhanced mobility and flexibility
-
Increased grip strength
-
Improved posture and core stability
-
Greater athletic performance
-
Better balance and coordination
-
Increased resilience and injury prevention
-
Efficient full-body workouts
-
Long-term health and longevity
Perhaps most importantly, kettlebells can be adapted to virtually any age, fitness level, or training goal.
What Makes PuncHIIT Different?
We Teach Kettlebells as a Skill
Many facilities include kettlebells in their workouts.
Few actually teach kettlebell training.
At PuncHIIT, we believe proper technique matters. Our coaches spend time helping members learn movement patterns, understand body positioning, develop confidence, and build a solid foundation before progressing to more advanced exercises.
We focus on quality movement first, because good movement creates better results and helps reduce the risk of injury.
We Offer Multiple Styles of Kettlebell Training
There is no single "right" way to train with kettlebells.
Our members experience several approaches, including:
Hardstyle Kettlebell Training:
Hardstyle emphasizes power, strength, tension, and athletic performance.
This style teaches explosive hip drive, strong body mechanics, and efficient movement patterns through exercises such as swings, cleans, presses, squats, carries, Turkish Get-Ups, and snatches.
Kettlebell Flows:
Flows combine multiple kettlebell movements into smooth, continuous sequences.
These sessions develop:
-
Mobility
-
Coordination
-
Balance
-
Stability
-
Body awareness
-
Conditioning
Flow training may look graceful, but it can be incredibly demanding both physically and mentally.
Strength & Conditioning:
These classes combine traditional strength development with kettlebell-specific training methods.
Expect a blend of:
-
Strength work
-
Conditioning
-
Core training
-
Carries
-
Complexes
-
Functional movement
The result is a balanced workout that builds both fitness and resilience.
We Focus on Longevity
Our goal isn't simply to help you lift the heaviest kettlebell possible.
We want you to continue moving well, feeling strong, and enjoying life for decades to come.
That's why our coaching emphasizes:
-
Joint health
-
Proper movement mechanics
-
Sustainable progress
-
Injury prevention
-
Functional strength
-
Lifelong fitness
Many of our members train with us well into their 50s, 60s, and beyond.

Meet Our Kettlebell Coaches
One of the things that makes PuncHIIT's kettlebell program unique is the depth of coaching experience behind it.
Unlike many facilities where kettlebells are simply incorporated into general fitness classes, our coaches have spent years developing their own kettlebell skills, teaching techniques, and helping members progress safely and effectively.
Sonny Wilson
As the founder of PuncHIIT Fitness and creator of HELLS BELLS, Sonny has spent decades coaching strength training, boxing, kickboxing, and kettlebell-based fitness.
His approach focuses on building real-world strength, muscular endurance, resilience, mobility, and long-term health. He believes fitness should enhance quality of life, not simply improve performance in the gym.
Lori Minnikin
Lori is one of PuncHIIT's original kettlebell instructors and has been a driving force behind the growth of kettlebell training within our community.
Known for her technical knowledge, coaching ability, and passion for movement, Lori helps members build confidence while developing proper technique, strength, mobility, and body awareness.
Stephanie Lynch
Steph brings a well-rounded coaching approach that combines strength training, kettlebell training, mobility, nutrition coaching, and long-term health.
Her classes emphasize movement quality, consistency, sustainable progress, and helping members build strength that supports everyday life.
Her supportive coaching style helps members feel comfortable while still encouraging them to challenge themselves and continue progressing.
Corey MacNeil
Corey brings energy, enthusiasm, and a strong technical foundation to kettlebell coaching.
His coaching style combines strength, conditioning, and movement efficiency, helping members improve both performance and confidence.
Corey excels at helping participants refine technique while creating engaging and challenging workouts that remain accessible to a wide range of fitness levels.
Kevin Wilson
Kevin brings a unique perspective to the PuncHIIT kettlebell coaching team through his experience in Kettlebell Sport (Girevoy Sport) training.
His background emphasizes efficiency, endurance, breathing, pacing, and technical precision, providing members with exposure to a different side of kettlebell training than they might find in a traditional strength-focused class.
While Kevin currently serves primarily as a substitute instructor, he is exploring opportunities to offer additional kettlebell programming and specialized classes as PuncHIIT grows into its new facility.
A Team Approach
While each instructor brings their own personality, experience, and coaching style, they all share the same philosophy:
-
Technique before intensity
-
Progression before ego
-
Longevity over short-term results
-
Strength that supports everyday life
-
Fitness that is sustainable for the long haul
Together, they create one of the most experienced and diverse kettlebell coaching teams in Halifax, offering members the opportunity to learn from multiple perspectives while benefiting from a consistent commitment to safe, effective, and enjoyable training.
